Stop Going to Work





Are you going to work? Why do you want to spend a large part of your life going to work?


Merriam-webster defines work as follows:

"a: to perform work or fulfill duties regularly for wages or salary works in publishing

b: to perform or carry through a task requiring sustained effort or continuous repeated operations worked all day over a hot stove

c: to exert oneself physically or mentally especially in sustained effort for a purpose or under compulsion or necessity"


Stop working for income! Follow you passion and live your dream. I know sounds easy. It really can be just that easy. Make a transition to stop working and following your passion. You can earn an income following your passion.


Here are a few easy steps to transition for "working" to creating your dream and following your passion.


  1. Quiet your mind of excuses, blocks and why nots. Pretend for a few minutes you have nothing in your way of following your passion.

  2. Take a piece of paper, a white board or a poster board and a marker. Write down the things that your really passionate about in the massage and bodywork field. Do you get really excited about luxury spa work, do you love working with older folks, do you love pregnancy and babies, are you a sports enthusiast.

  3. What is your dream environment to practice? Are you dreaming of a posh spa with lots of luxuries? Are you dreaming of working outdoors with sports activities? Would a specialty clinic that specializes in prenatal massage and infant massage be your dream?

  4. Combine your passion, your dream environment and narrow that into a vision. If you are passionate about sports, perhaps a mobile practice that works with a sports team high school level, college level or pro level. That becomes your focus.

  5. Learn everything you can about your area of passion. Take classes, find a mentor, shadow therapists in that area. Revise your resume or start your own practice.

Stop going to work and start following your passion!
